HISPANO'S
LARGEST-EVER SINGLE CONTRACT: 800 URBAN BUSES TO CASABLANCA

The local urban transport operator,
M'Dina Bus, has just confirmed one of the world's largest
bodybuilding order to a single manufacturer.
Hispano's industrial activities in
Morocco will move to a more modern and bigger facility in the
outskirts of Casablanca in the aim of strengthening its
competitive position and become a key player in North Africa and
Middle East.
First badge of 200 Hispano's habit
buses, 12 m. length, will be built on Iveco
chassis and delivered in
2006. Similar numbers will be manufactured over the next three
years. Hispano already has successful experience with Iveco in
producing large orders to transport operators in France, Italy
and Spain.
The Hispano and Tata team comprising of Mr.
Gerardo Múgica, Chief Executive Officer of HISPANO, Mr. Andrés
Múgica, Chief Operating Officer of HISPANO, Mr. Hicham Benmira,
Managing Director of HISPANO MAGHREB and Mr. Ujjal Mukherjee,
representing Tata Motors Limited, met the Prime Minister of
Morocco on 11th July. The Prime Minister appreciated the
presence of a big group like TATA in the whole deal and
congratulated HISPANO for bringing in superior European quality
buses in Morocco which he hoped will enhance the image of the
public transportation in Casablanca. The Prime Minister promised
his support in any possible investment in the country.

M'Dina Bus Consortium is formed by RATP Development (the
international business unit of the Public Transport Company of
Paris), finance.com (a financial private company) and Al
Bahja/Haddou Bus, a l ocal
Tourist Operator, and has the urban bus concession of the City
of Casablanca since August 2004. This large fleet renewal is
part of the largest project to modernize public transportation
ever in Morocco (PDU - Plan de Déplacement Urbain). Selection
of Hispano's buses fulfills the aim of placing the urban
transport in the country to its highest levels. Pininfarina
exterior design and the product technology and contrasted
experience of HISPANO have been the most relevant aspects

Moroccan market leader in the premium
segment
Since its establishment in September 2000, HISPANO has become
rapidly the dominant bodybuilder of luxury buses and coaches in
Morocco. The most important transport operators in the country
are trusting HISPANO. ALSA Group in Marrakech and Ruiz Group in
Tangeirs are its best citybus customers, while CTM Group, Atlas
Rider, SATAS and Supratours, are loyal customers for luxury
tourist coaches.
Speaking at the occasion, Gerardo Múgica
stated that "This major deal is establishing a great
starting-point for our ambitious growth plans, after tying-up
with Tata Motors of India in March. Europe, North Africa and
Middle East are key markets in our Strategic Plan, and creating
a manufacturing facility in Morocco will help us meet these
challenges". Mr Ravi Kant, Executive Director, Tata Motors
CVBU, and recently appointed Chairman of Hispano Carrocera, said
"this development reinforces our confidence in Hispano's
competency and capability to supply world class buses in Europe
and outside. We expect to open new markets in North Africa and
Middle East".
