There is no doubt that passenger safety has always been a crucial objective for the whole transport sector and for society in general. This is especially true in relation to group passenger road transport. Despite being the safest type of transport, many people, companies, official institutions are involved in trying to reduce the number of accidents that occur and, particularly, their possible fatal consequences.

Throughout the whole of its history, Hispano has been characterised by its concern to improve passenger safety in buses and coaches, its main actions being centred on passive safety, which is directly related to the bodywork. A lot of hard work by a specific team of collaborators and a considerable part of the company's investments are channelled into this area of concern.

HISPANO has achieved a milestone that no other company has managed to repeat to date in Spain. One year before it became compulsory for all vehicles, HISPANO was the first European company to obtain official certification for Regulation 66 of the European Union, referring to the resistance of the structure of large-capacity passenger transport vehicles, commonly known as the "anti-overturn" system; this official approval was obtained on May 13th 1993, after testing the reliability of the system, by overturning a completely finished coach, obtaining absolutely satisfactory results. Today there is a philosophy of safety in the company that makes it an undoubted leader in this field.
